London Irish Motor Club has confirmed today that plans for this years sprint which will take place at Lydden Hill on the 15th and 16th of August are well advanced. Regulations and entry forms will be available shortly. This years event is a round of the 2009 SBD Motorsport British Sprint Championship.
The London Irish Motor club EMICO thropies sprint went off very well at the Kent Circuit with a wide and varied bunch of cars taking part.
Saturday morning was greeted by a nice mild day with bursts of sun and no rain, Sunday also ran in similar conditions. The Kent venue looked very well after its recent makeover and all of the drivers were eager to get practise underway.
The London Irish Motor Club will hold a two day sprint at Lydden Hill on August 16 and 17 2008. At present the provisional entry is very tasty with current British Rallycross champion Ollie O’Donovan among the entries in a (wait for it) Citroen Saxo.
Well known for his sideways stuff in the MK2 escort is Willie Woods and he will be running in Class D7 (Over 1400 cc to 2000 cc) and sharing the famous green MK2 will be Ruth Sheridan who is more commonly seen in the navigator’s side of the car.
Better known for his historic rallying – Mickey Smith will compete on the two day sprint in a Metro GTI.
Cars on the entry list are wide ranging with a Renault Alpine to Citroen Saxo’s and from Blaze’s to a Porsche 996.
Make sure to head to Lydden Hill this weekend for some bumper sprinting action and the best part is that the action is over two days.
